Debt payoff and budgeting, together
Paying off debt is one half of the equation. The other half is making sure your spending doesn’t cancel out your progress. This update connects both.
What’s new
Category budgets. Pick any transaction category — groceries, dining out, subscriptions, whatever — and set a monthly spending limit. Spendify tracks it automatically from your connected accounts.
Visual progress bars. Each budget shows a clean progress bar that shifts from green to yellow to red as you approach your limit. Open the app, glance at your budgets, know exactly where you stand. No math required.
Push notifications at 80% and 100%. You’ll get a heads-up when you’re approaching your limit and another when you’ve hit it. Early enough to adjust, not so early that it’s annoying.
Month-over-month trends. Tap any budget category to see how your spending has tracked over the past few months. Patterns become obvious fast — and that’s the point.
The philosophy
We didn’t want to build another budgeting app that makes you feel bad about buying coffee. Budgets in Spendify are guardrails, not guilt trips. Set them, track them, adjust as needed. The goal is awareness, not restriction.
What’s next
Strategy comparison is in progress — soon you’ll be able to see snowball vs avalanche vs custom payoff orders side by side with real numbers.
