One of the most tedious parts of using a finance app is categorizing transactions. You connect your bank, hundreds of transactions pour in, and suddenly you’re spending 20 minutes sorting “AMZN MKTP US” into the right bucket. That’s over.
What’s new
Auto-categorization. Common merchants are categorized automatically when they sync. Starbucks goes to dining, Amazon goes to shopping, your electric company goes to utilities. No action needed.
Learn from corrections. When you do recategorize a transaction, Spendify remembers. Every past and future transaction from that merchant gets updated to match. Fix it once, never think about it again.
Merchant name cleaning. “WM SUPERCENTER #4821 SOME CITY CA” becomes “Walmart Supercenter.” No more ALL CAPS gibberish cluttering your transaction list.
Bulk recategorize. Want to move all transactions from a specific merchant to a different category? One tap. It applies across every account.
Why it matters
Categories feed into your budgets. If transactions aren’t categorized correctly, your budget tracking is wrong. And if categorizing is tedious, you stop doing it. Auto-categorization solves both problems — your budgets stay accurate without you lifting a finger.
